A Special Aide to businessman, Alfred Agbesi Woyome, Reginald Seth Dogbey has agued that, Woyome is innocent of the blames laid at his door step over Ghc51.2 million paid to him by the State.
The businessman, Alfred Woyome claimed to have helped Ghana raised funds to construct stadia for the hosting of the 2008 African Cup of Nations which attracted him such an amount.
A former Attorney General, Martin Amidu in 2014 single-handledly challenged the legality of the payment made to Woyome in the highest court of the land, Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court had ordered that, Woyome pays the supposed illegally paid amount in instalment. Ghc5 million each Month.
After the first payment, Mr. Woyome had sued the Attorney General at the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) arguing that, the ruling by the Supreme Court of Ghana to have wrongfully been paid by the state as a breach to his human right.
Mr. Woyome who seems not to be satisfy with the verdict has dragged the Attorney General to the Africa Court of Justice in Arusha, Tanzania in his quest to fight for his right concerning the refunding of the Ghc51.2 million.
The Attorney General was served a letter through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,meanwhile the supreme court is set to orally examine Mr. Woyome in court.
However, a Special Aide to Mr. Woyome, Reginald Dogbey has argued that “Woyome is an innocent man considering the charges pressed against him by the State”.
