Popular Ghanaian musician kuami eugene escapes death after a fatal accident. His his car rammed into a tipper truck on Sunday night near CP close to DSTV’s head office along the George Walker Bush N1 Highway.
It is reported that the award-winning Ghanaian artiste was not driving himself when the accident occurred. According to eyewitness reports, the accident happened near the Achimota forest during the midnight of 17th March 2024. Kuami Eugene’s car ran into a tipper truck on the highway.
His driver was the one behind the wheels but we don’t know yet how he ran into the tipper,” a source said. No one has died from the accident, however, injuries were recorded. Kuami Eugene is said to be doing fine after sustaining minor injuries that have been quickly treated at a hospital. The singer’s management team is yet to comment on the report.
Upon arrival at the scene, Modern Ghana editor Ajarfor organized transportation to rush Kuami Eugene and another individual to the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) for urgent medical attention. Additionally, the Achimota Police were summoned to assist with the situation.
He said that, “I was behind him, and so
I was the first person to rush to his rescue. Kwame was struggling to come out so I brought him out of the car and helped the passenger too, before some guys also came around. I arranged for a vehicle to convey them to the UGMC hospital.”
Eyewitnesses who stopped to render assistance reported that Kuami Eugene sustained a broken wrist and a deep cut on his right hand as a result of the accident. He explained that the tipper truck was in motion but moving slowly when the musician crashed into it from behind.
He believes the accident occurred because the N1 highway is dark due to poor lighting. Additionally the tipper truck also lacked tail light, thereby worsening visibility. The male passenger did not appear to have any physical injury, but told nurses at the UGMC Hospital that he felt pains in his neck and back.
According to him, the artiste appears to have broken his arm as a cut was visible with blood on his hands. He also had a cut on his lips, the leg and an injury in the hip.
“He’s fine. He had a broken arm with blood all over his hands. The car is badly damaged and all the airbags exploded. kuami eugene escapes death but he could have died.” The artiste was in a range rover with registration number, GC- 220-21.
