MP CHASES US AMBASSADOR OVER BUSINESS COMMENT

The Member of Parliament for Builsa South, Dr. Clement Apaak, is challenging the US Ambassador to Ghana, Robert Jackson to come clear over  what he meant by saying “doing business in Ghana is tough”.

The US and Danish ambassadors were believed to have said on record that acts like illegal payments and paying more than necessary scares entrepreneurs from doing business in Ghana.

Reacting to this, the Builsa South legislator, Dr. Apaak asked the ambassadors to be specific in specified areas where they think the Ghanaian authorities are not doing well to ensure a business-friendly environment.

He is of the firm belief that the US Ambassador has not been fair to the Ghanaian authorities with his comments, stressing that such comments has the potential of derailing investor confidence in the country.

Dr. Apaak do not understand why the US Ambassador will make such complaints when other investors from different countries around the globe doing business in Ghana are quiet.

Dr. Clement Apaak made this observation when he spoke in an interview on Pink Fm.

To the legislator, government over the years have tried as much as possible to create an enabling environment for businesses to strife in the country.
