The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Kasoa, Michael Yaw Essuman Mensah has been accused by a woman for watching her nakedness.
A member of the NPP, Madam Grace, who was part of the party’s aggrieved members who cursed executives of the party for expunging their names out of the party’s register, narrated the ordeal that was meted out to her on Friday night in an interview on a Pink FM News program.
“It was around midnight, I was asleep with my grandchild when I heard people banging my door amidst yelling that I should wake up and go and revoke the curse I pronounced on them, I opened and was surrounded by some persons including a police officer who had a gun in his hands. I was naked and they dragged me out of the room with the police officer pointing the gun at me” she narrated.
Madam Grace also mentioned that she could later identify those who surrounded her.
“I saw our party youth organizer, a vice chairman, the treasurer and the MCE, Michael Mensah who were all staring at my nakedness. After a while, they allowed me to put something on and I was taken to the police station” she added.
The well-known NPP member in Kasoa also told Pinknews that no charge was brought against her but was thrown into cell until the following day when she was taken to Ofaakor from the ladies cell situated at Buduburam(Liberia Camp) which is a few miles away from Kasoa.

Attack on other members
Some other members of the party who were part of the group that pronounced the curse were also vehemently attacked on that same night.
Mr. Aggrey tells Pinknews that, he was away from home but whilst returning he could hear gunshots and was cautioned by someone not to go home.
“I went out to buy something, whilst returning I heard gunshots from my house. Someone told me not to go home as the group was after me” Mr. Aggrey narrated.
He also mentioned that he could not pass the night in his house.
“I slept outside but returned home the next morning to find my room been ransacked, they had drunk all my juice in the fridge including yogurt, I saw my bed also broken” he mentioned.
Bright Oware also mentions that he was attacked and whisked away to the police station in a Rambo style amidst verbal and physical assaults that same night.
He told Pinknews Akwasi Addo in an interview that, his room was also ransacked and found an amount of GHC 41,000 missing including two iPhone 6 plus phones and a wristwatch.
Response
The MCE in a quick rebuttal has however denied all the accusations brought up against him by all three persons and stated that the people were arrested by the police on the count of “offensive conduct” for invoking the curse on a land where traditional rulers have banned people from cursing.
Background
Some members of the New Patriotic Party in the Awutu Senya East Constituency, Kasoa, resorted to invoking a curse on the party’s executives by performing sacrifices to a river deity.
According to the persons who pride themselves as long-standing and hardworking members of the party, their names were expunged from the party’s register whilst several of them who wished to contest for various positions were intentionally disqualified by the executives with a malicious intent.
They believe the Member of Parliament of the area who doubles as the Minister of Special Development and Initiatives wants to have an undue advantage when the party goes into primaries to choose a candidate for the next elections.
