GHANA IN A STATE OF INSECURITY-HONORABLE SAMUEL OKUDZETO ABLAKWA.

Honorable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa ,MP for North Tongu in the Volta region expressed his concerns on how the country is also prone to terrorist attacks as we see in other countries worldwide.

Following an interview he had with a media house this morning, Honorable confirmed that his statement was to express solidarity with sister nations who were under terrorist attack. He listed various countries who were experiencing these terrorist attacks recently. The Manchester arena bombing, which left 168 injured teenagers, the London bridge attack, the St.Petersburg Metro bombing in Russia, and other cases in Nigeria,Cameroon,Niger and many other countries under these terrorist attacks.

According to statistics,677 incidents of terrorist attacks has been recorded worldwide in just this year and as alarming as it sounds,We are to be alert  and improve upon the country`s security system because the country can be targeted at anytime, considering the recent patterns the people behind the terrorism follow.Honorable also added by saying Ghanians should not assume immunity to this attacks because we could be targets at any time.

He expressed joy as to he being backed by the Defense Minister in parliament yesterday concerning this issue. To throw more light on his statement, the attacks are not necessarily  plotted away from the targeted countries. But rather, they operate using the social media in brainwashing and radicalizing the citizens and the youth belonging to countries across the world. In so doing they establish their homegrown terror team who execute the attacks.

Honorable urged members of he country to be vigilant and  report to the authorities, cases of anyone professing extreme religious doctrine in relation to terrorism for sanctioning. He also proposed that, companies responsible for the manufacturing of these ammunition used by the terrorists be brought to book globally. The media was not left out as he mentioned that the wide media coverage on the actions of these terrorists brings pleasure to them. And instead of focusing on the number of victims and terrorist statements, they should not be given any publicity.
