 DRASTIC REDUCTION IN LAND DISPUTES – ACP DAVID ADJEM

The Divisional Police Commander in the Awutu Senya East Municipality, ACP David Agyemang Adjem has hinted on the drastic reduction in land disputes.

ACP David Adjem said this on Saturday, June 23 2018 during the West African Security Association (WASA) held at the the Kasoa divisional police station.

According to him, the issues of land disputes in the areas of Kasoa Ofankor, Millenium city , Fetteh Kakraba among others has been with them since 1913 and he is therefore grateful that at last there has been some cut down in the rate of land disputes in the above mentioned areas.

Speaking at the gathering, he said that the incident of land disputes has immersely reduced due to intense resolution tactics employed by the Awutu Senya East division. “The incident of landguard in the Millenium city area which was a thorn in our flesh has been drastically reduced due to the alternative dispute resolution tactics being employed by our division” he stated.

Moreover, he added that since most landguard in the area was brought to the police by the chiefs, he is emploring them to ensure that the landguards leave the area in order for them to leave in absolute peace.

He further urged them to engage in different methods to settle land disputes. “It time we take alternative ways to resolve our land disputes. Let’s us think of new ways to solve century owned issues of land as the way forward”.

As issues of land disputes has been on the rise, he warned people to desist from such acts or face punishment when caught.

Finally, he stated “we know we may not be able to achieve 100 percent reduction but we are happy with our results soo far and we encourage  all of you to assist  to as much as you can”.
