The Municipal Chief Executive of the Awutu Senya East Municipality, Dr. Alhaji Nuhu Adams has taken a step ahead in the fight against offensive languages in the country’s political discourse.
The MCE who spoke on Kasoa based Pink 96.9 Fm was speaking against electoral violence and abusive languages that characterizes the political discourse during political seasons.
Dr. Adams Nuhu, who is also the parliamentary candidate for the NDC in the constituency could not fathom why people has to rain insults on others whilst they could have made issues the central focus of the modern day politics.
He therefore advised all and sundry to engage in issues based campaign rather than attacking personalities.
“Talks of bigotry and ethnocentrism can lead to chaos and anarchy due to the cosmopolitan nature of Kasoa..And to those foolish followers of us(political leaders) you need to take caution…I cannot insult the opposition leader..so why should you be able to do that” He said.
The MCE however vehemently condemned a recent attack on Pink Fm’s journalists in which the station’s News Anchor, Akwasi Addo was been assaulted during the EC’S Limited Biometric Voters Registration Exercise in one of the centers at Kasoa with Alhaji Ishawu, the constituency organizer of the NPP leading the attack.
According to a doctor’s report cited by pinkfmonlinegh.com the journalist has gone half blind after the unfortunate event.
He chided political personnel to put an end to such acts that causes fear and panic in the discharge of journalist’s professional duties.
