Blackstars make it Top of Their Group after Landslide Victory

The Blackstars of Ghana in a match played against Ethiopia at the Kumasi Sports stadium yesterday, made it to the top of their group after a landslide victory. They scored five goals against their Ethiopian counterparts.

Asamoah Gyan opened the scoring at the 10th minute when he headed a delightful cross by Thomas Agyepong thus, making him the first football player to score fifty goals for Ghana. The second and third goals came from John Boye and Ebenezer Ofori respectively. Rafael Dwamena, making his debut also gave Ghana two goals. The game was also the first for Coach James Kwesi Appiah, who returns to the Black Stars following his dismissal for supervising Ghana’s poor campaign at the 2014 World Cup.

The match was a qualifier to the African Cup of Nations to be played in Cameroon in 2019. Later this month, Ghana is set to play a match against USA.
