WE HAVE NO IDEA WHERE MAXWELL’S MONUMENT WILL BE POSITIONED- FAMILY

Ahmed Zachariah, the brother of the late Major Maxwell Mahama denied the claim that, their family has instigated that, the Tema motor roundabout be named after his late brother,Major Maxwell Mahama.

“”Its unfortunate, you see people have asked us and we said that look, this funeral about Maxwell`s death has gone beyond the family. The government is involved, the clergy, the whole of Ghana, the whole country is involved..Now,making the suggestion or making the request of the monument was for us to make.As to where it would be positioned for maximum impact,i think that we need to do much wider consultation. We are not experts in this things.

What we are seeking to achieve is the impact on the minds of Ghanaian`s ,on the minds of the whole world that this is what happened and we want the monument placed in a place where people will see it and say never again..

Others have suggested Denkyira Obuasi, some people have suggested Accra and places where people visit most.I think the experts and the Ghanaian public if there is vulgar consultation,a most appropriate place can be identified and the monument put there. We dont even know the nature of the monument, whatever its going to be we dont know .And so i think the government am sure is going to come and probably afford everyone the opportunity to give suggestions as to how it should be, the location, and so on and so forth.

As for us as a family,we haven’t suggested any location, not that I know.””
