Cristiano Ronaldo has not missed a single minute for Real Madrid in this Primera Division season and Saturday’s match against Eibar will not be any different.
Malaga’s Roberto Rosales is the only outfield player in La Liga who has featured for as many minutes and only two other goalkeepers in Jan Oblak and Vicente Guaita can say they have played the 2,790 minutes this season.
Considering how important next Tuesday’s match against Wolfsburg is for Madrid, some questioned whether the Eibar game was going to be the one for Ronaldo to sit on the bench or not.
However, coach Zinedine Zidane says the Portuguese is ready;
“He will play, we will make some rotations but these rotations will be made thinking about the match against Eibar, then we will see what happens next Tuesday.”
Ronaldo is still fighting to end this season as the leading scorer and he also wants to finish the campaign having featured every single minute for the first time since he arrived in Spain back in 2009.
He has scored 29 goals so far this season and his main competition for his fourth Pichichi Award are Luis Suarez (26) and Lionel Messi (22).
Since Zidane took over, Ronaldo has scored 17 goals in 16 matches.
