The Red Devils have retained the crown they won last year after goals from Donald Love, Andreas Pereira and Guillermo Varela at White Hart Lane.
Manchester United’s under-21s were crowned champions of the U21 Premier League on Tuesday after a last-gasp win over Tottenham at White Hart Lane.
Guillermo Varela scored a stunner for Warren Joyce’s young side in injury-time to snatch a 3-2 win and, with it, the title.
United had led 2-0 in the first-half through goals from Donald Love and Andreas Pereira but couldn’t hold firm in defence as Spurs piled on the pressure.
Will Miller halved the deficit with a low strike that United goalkeeper Joel Pereira could do little keep out.
The second-half saw a number of chances fall the way of both sides but neither side could find another way through until the 84th minute.
Joe Pritchard looked to have postponed United’s title celebrations when he tapped home from a Marcus Edwards cross.
However, Varela came up with the goods in stoppage time as the Uruguayan volleyed home to give United their lead back and seal the title.
Pereira, United’s captain on the night, said: “It’s unbelievable. We didn’t give up and worked as a team.
“Everyone in the changing room, even those who didn’t play. It’s an amazing feeling to win this title twice in a row. I said in pre-season, we wanted to retain the title and we did it. Well done everyone.
“I’d like to thank the fans who support us, they were brilliant and were our 12th man. Respect.”
