Former National Organizer of the NDC, Mr Yaw Boateng Gyan has stated that President Akuffo Addo should have led the “Kume Preko Demonstration Reloaded” against himself. The demonstration took place on Saturday 5th November 2022 in the country’s capital Accra.
Mr Boateng gave his take on the demonstration on Pink 96.9 FM’s breakfast show “Omanbapa Kasa ” on Monday, November 7. Some disturbed but concerned citizens of the nation demonstrated, demanding better economic conditions from the Akuffo Addo-led administration.
” The president should have demonstrate against himself “, Mr Yaw Boateng Gyan insisted. He pinpointed that the current economic state of the country is worse compared to the first “kume preko ” demonstration in 1995. President Akuffo Addo( then a party leader of the NPP) and other NPP leaders spearheaded the demonstration
.
He further expressed his disappointments in the Akuffo Addo- led administration and the president’s refusal to sack underworking ministers. He alleged that some of President Akuffo Addo’s government appointees are the cause of Ghana’s economic hardship due to their selfish motive of enriching their private owned banks.
