The Presiding Head of Perez Chapel International, Bishop Charles Agyina Asare has said that he doesn’t support any political party but the party of Jesus and can’t stop NDC members from coming to his church.
Bishop Agyina Asare dismisses claim that his close affiliation to the NDC is the reason why most of the party members in his church are senior members of his congregation.
In an interview the Bishop said,” People choose where to go church and I can’t stop any one from coming to my church. I have a lot of high profile NPP supporters who are big time financiers in my church.”
“I have a number of NPP people who are my friends I mean very close friends. People have their own perceptions and in Ghana we tag a person which is a bad thing” he added.
Speaking about his relation with past and current government, he has been involved since the Fourth Republic.
“I have related to every government since 1996 when I was put on the protocol list. I have been involved with Former President Rawlings, I have been involved with Former President Kufuor, and Former President Professor John Atta Mills I was involved.”
When he was questioned on which political party he supported, he said “As for me I don’t belong to any political party but party of Jesus” he disclosed.
Commenting on his conviction, he said “I have been friends with all the people and I speak on my conviction every season. During then President Rawlings time I spoke my conviction, President Kufuor’s time I spoke my conviction, during John’s time I did and Nana I do.”
