INAPPROPRIATE POSTING OF BILLS RETARDING NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Posting of bills have been overlooked over the years by many sanitary agencies and even most government officials as a major sanitary problem, but just as littering, posting of bills at inappropriate places is equally bad and unacceptable.
Posters can be seen around walls, stores and interchanges all over the country. As at now the only interchange that hasn’t been abused with this kind of “Ghanaian attitude” is the New Kwame Nkrumah Circle Interchange, probably because it’s new.In kasoa there are posters everywhere, even the kasoa interchange which has writings that state clearly that “post no bill” has posters all over it.In an interview with one of the traders around the area he said he felt nothing wrong with all the posters in the area. This shows the gravity of the issue at hand which could prevent Ghana from achieving its major sanitary goal of becoming one of the cleanest countries in Africa.

The only solution that could be relevant to addressing the issue of posting of bills anywhere is to enforce the laws. There are already existing laws against posting of bills at inappropriate places, and to turn the tables around these laws should be enforced and people caught in the act should be sanctioned appropriately. Also, due to illiteracy people see “POST NO BILL” at various places and still post their posters over there; this can be addressed simply by educating the general public on its effects and consequences.
