Cristiano Ronaldo a Real Madrid player says people want to see him fail, miss penalties and get red card so his country fails.
Speaking in an interview which was posted on twitter @beIN soccer, the Portugal star said “people want to see me fail, miss penalties, get a red card for my country to fail.
Ronaldo made this comment after his country Portugal played a 1-1 draw with Iran yesterday 25 June 2018. There were a lot of controversies as to why he wasn’t given a red card when Ronaldo caught the Iranian player in the face with a flailing arm.
After a lengthy stoppage while he watched replays on the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) pitch side TV monitor, the referee deemed it worthy only of a yellow card instead of a red.
After the game, the Real Madrid forward said in the interview that mentally he is tough and that makes him different from other players.
“I’m mentally tough though, I’m born this way. That’s the difference between me and the other people you all claim to be my competition” he added.
Though, Ronaldo has scored hat-trick for his country in their previous matches netting four goals in two matches he missed a penalty for Portugal in their match yesterday and this disappointed his fans since there were a lot of expectations from him yesterday.
