ODELIA OFORI QUITS TV3 AFTER SEVEN YEARS

Ace broadcast journalist Odelia, after a seven-year stint with Accra-based TV3, has announced her retirement.

Particularly interested in environmental reporting, Odelia is recipient of a number of GJA awards, and has been associated with international outfits Deutsche Welle Television among others.

She took to Facebook to reminisce her working days at the institution, and thank influential people in her life:

It’s been 7 yrs of my career spent at tv3. Today I bow out as broadcast journalist. My big breaks were from here, I have done stories that made real impact because of this brand. I remember staying on the story till the mental health bill was passed. When pregnant women at Amanase counted on my stories to get the right facilities when they go to deliver. Oh and when I slept at Agbogbloshie to tell the story of slum dwellers. All my awards were from tv3, my first trip abroad was from there. Emma Morrison you believed in me after hottest host and asked that I be employed. Wow today I stand out of the premises and say am grateful. Am out to do my own productions and train the next generation.
