Kwame Tuffour, A suspect in Captain Mahama’s lynching has been nabbed.

Kwame Tuffour, one of the suspects in connection with Captain Mahama’s lynching has opened up about his involvement in the killing of the Captain.
He narrated that, on that fateful day, he had been sent by his mother to collect firewood and was in the process of carrying out the duty when he heard the outcry of the villagers indicating that an armed robber had been caught.
He claimed that upon arrival at the scene, Major Mahama had already been beaten to pulp and was dead so he picked up a concrete block to smash the shoulder of the ‘already dead captain.’ He was however quick to add that he had no idea Captain Mahama was a soldier.
The suspect was arrested at Domeabra near Nyinahin in the Ashanti region. The Nyinahin District Police commander, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Ambrose Aboagye said on Sunday around 9:00 they received a tip off that the suspect and his accomplice had been hiding in the community for the past three days.
The police rushed to the community and only Kwame Tuffour was found in their hide-out and was subsequently arrested. According to Tuffour, Agyei, his accomplice went back to Denkyira Obuasi early in the morning.
When asked why he sought refuge in Domeabra, Tuffour said he had worked as a chainsaw operator in the community some years ago so he took advantage of that to bolt to the town.
According to the police, Kwame Tuffour has admitted being involved in the gruesome murder of the late Captain Mahama. He has been transferred to Accra to be arraigned before court.
