I DID NOT TAKE BRIBE-PROF. ATTAFUAH

Professor Ken Attafuah, the acting executive secretary of the National Identification Authority (NIA) has denied receiving bribe to award the country’s identification card project contract to margin group.

During an interview with Kennedy Agyapong on Tuesday with one media organization, he says Ken Attafuah who is the acting director of  NIA was bribed with a land from the owner of the company that won the National Identification System (NIS). However, Mr. Attafuah says Mr. Agyapong’s claims were borne out of “ignorance, confusion and or needless confusion”.

In a statement he made on Sunday, he categorically explained that he and his wife bought the land from one Moses Baiden who was introduced to them by one Stephen Ntim, a mutual friend. In the words of Mr. Attafuah, “ at the time of buying the land, I was not a public servant, and I had no way of knowing that I would return to head of NIA, or that I would become the chairman of the committee that would advice the government on a roadmap to revitalize Ghana’s NIS”.

Reiterating his statement, he said he never took any bribe from any Moses Baiden or anyone and also he never received any gift in a form of land, money or any other object of value from any person for any work done but rather served the best interest of the country with his best intellect as the acting executive Secretary of the NIA.
