GHANA COMMEMORATES AFRICAN UNION DAY

African Union Day is annually celebrated across Africa and in some parts of the world to mark the formation of the Organization of African Unity in the year 1963.
As this non-governmental organization ages 54 this year,the theme focuses on the youth: HARNESSING THE DEMOGRAPHIC DIVIDEND THROUTH INVESTMENT IN YOUTH.
Ghana held a flag-raising ceremony at the forecourt of the State House to commemorate AU day.Gracing this occassion were the Foriegn Affairs Minister,Shirley Ayorkor Botchway,Interior Minister,Ambrose Derry and some other Diplomatic corps.
The Foreign Affairs Ministry has also designed a week programme of activities which includes health walk,quiz competetions and on top of it all,a banquet for members of the African diplomatic corps to mark AU Day.
