Renowned economist Dr. Kwame Afaglo has advised politicians in the country to focus much on building infrastructure and also provide the citizens with utility, instead of promising unnecessary things to the people.
In his view, what the people need in the country are just two things, and that is what the politicians should focus on providing. He stated that, citizens have always been taken for granted by both NPP and NDC in the country.
According to Dr. Afaglo, if government is able to build more infrastructures in the country, it will create more jobs for people; especially the youth also it will attract more tourists into the country, which will boost the local economy.
In addition, he encouraged the government to provide people with easy access to transportation, to enable trade in the capital city Accra. Again, government should focus on providing electricity and water to the citizens in the remote areas, “I want all politicians to listen carefully, both NPP and NDC, they should concentrate on building more infrastructure and also provide the citizens with basic utilities that they need, those are the things that drives a country’s economy”.
