Easter is one festival that is mostly celebrated by Christian all over the world, many people celebrate the occasion to mark the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the son of the living God.
The situation is not different in Ghana, the government through the interior minister, Ambrose Dery declared Friday 15th April and Monday 18th April 2022, as republic holiday. According to biblical history, Christ was crucified on a Friday, after his successful Palm Sunday journey to Jerusalem. Owing to that, Easter celebrations usually start on ‘Good Friday’ followed by Holy Saturday and Resurrection Sunday. Easter Monday serve as resting/fun day
Many believers use the celebration to pray and wish their family, friends and love ones well, the majority leader in parliament of Ghana. Hon. Osei Kyei Mensa-Bonsu, minister for Parliamentary Affairs has also prayed for his constituents and Ghanaians as we celebrate 2022 Easter. Mind you he is a committed member of the Assemblies of God church, below is his message.

“The Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ affirmed His supremacy over life’s tribulations.
God created us in His own image and likenesses. So do we possess the power to triumph over trials and tribulations that confront us from wherever.
May this Easter bring us the strength to overcome the storms in our lives and the fortitude to resist the devil-inspired temptations as we strive for success.
The shedding of blood by, and the death of Christ Jesus represents atonement for humanity’s sins and reconciliation of God with mankind once again. May this Easter grant us the power and purpose to forgive and reconcile with one another in the spirit of the prayer that Jesus Christ taught us: Father, forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.
May the mercy and blessings of the Easter envelope all of us.
