The Deputy Minister of Finance Mr. Kwaku Kwarteng has warned Umaru Sanda of citi FM never to call on him to the show he hosts known as, “Eye Withness News” again. The Deputy minister got incensed when the host exposed in contradiction with his response to the $15 billion loan from China.
It all started after the host pointed out what Dr Bawumia said about the loan which was contrary to what was said by the minister on the show. According to Mr Kwarteng, there is nothing like leveraging Ghana’s mineral resources to access the loan. The host Umaru Sanda referred him to an earlier statement which seemed to suggest that, there are two documents currently before the ministry a parody the host a parody the host quoted the earlier statement by Dr Bawumia which sparked the ministers anger.
He said ” Our untapped mineral resources include 2.8 billion-metric tonnes of iron ore , 960 million metric tonnes of bauxite, 430 million metric tonnes of manganese and 413 metric tonnes of limestone.
This was the reply given by Dr. Bawumia based on the question in respect to what Ghana is is willing to offer in exchange for the loan.
The ministers extended his anger to Mr. Adongo who spoke from the other side of the program and attacked him for describing the whole loan agreement as “Reckless”.
