Digital technologies to support agriculture

The minister of agriculture Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto has called on the inhabitants of Africa. Digital technologies to support agriculture. They should be used in the best possible way. So that agriculture can be further developed. Accordingly, change will be accelerated and more jobs created.

The reason for this is the press appearance of the 9th edition of the African Green Revolution Forum 2019, which will end on 6 September 2019 at the Accra International Conference Center.

The motto of the event is: ‘Grow Digital: Leveraging Digital Transformation to Drive Sustainable Food Systems in Africa’. Thus, the main topic will be to what extent digital technologies can be used. These have already shown successes and have been successfully accepted.

Ghana has been selected as host this year. The reason for this is the positive progress in the country’s agriculture and the pursuit of a digitisation strategy.

Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto says the forum will be an opportunity to exchange information with colleagues. It will be possible to discuss the use of digital technologies and the acceleration of agricultural growth. Through various measures, the government has already advanced agriculture and is therefore at a good point.

Digital technologies are playing an increasingly important role, especially for young people. They are digitally literate and want to be able to access information anywhere. They are therefore free to get involved in agriculture.

In addition, the Ministry’s role is to support the switch to digital technologies, says the Agriculture Minister. This is to be done by the AGRF. They analyse strategies, programmes and investments to promote sustainable food systems in Africa.

Overall, the event will be a platform to show how the use of technology and better practices can improve agriculture for entire communities and nations.
