Dansoman is a sub urban town in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana located near Accra and Takoradi district of the
Accra metropolitan Area. The city is known for being one of the biggest and largest estates in west africa.
Dansoman city is a beautiful place to be because of its serene nature, wonderful people to be around , well
constructed houses etc but Dansoman also has some challenges.
First of all, just like other cities in Accra, Dansoman also go through water storages. Ghana water company can lock
the people of dansoman pipes for days, weeks and even a month. This issue brings a lot of trouble to the people
whereby people will wake up at dawn and form a long queue just to fetch water. This has been a problem for years in
some parts of Dansoman .
Secondly, streetlight issues . Just like every other major cities in Accra, Dansoman or some part of dansoman lack
basic amenities like streetlight. it is quite sad when people are robbed of their belongings in the dark just because
there are no streetlight in some areas. Because of the inability for the higher authorities to provide streetlight, armed
guys use guns and knives to rob people over their hard earned belongings. This menace to the people has been going
on for a longer period of time and we plead with the MP and also minister of communication Hon. Ursula Owusu to
help us curb this menace to the people of dansoman.
Bad road in some part of Dansoman is also a big issue . Some roads have so many potholes which cause minor
accident to accident to the people who use the road. Drivers can’t move faster with their vehicles due to the
numerous potholes .
