Black Starlet Book Place In U17 World Cup

Ghana are the first African nation to reach the FIFA U-17 World Cup India 2017 after easing their way into the CAF U-17 Africa Cup of Nations semi-finals on Wednesday.

The two-time U-17 world champions cruised into the last four with their 5-0 win over Gabon built around doubles from captain Eric Ayiah and midfielder Emmanuel Toku.

Guinea are second in the group and need just a draw in their final group match to become the second of the four African nations to join the Black Starlets in India.

Ghana were crowned world champions in 1995 and 1999, and have also finished runners-up on two occasions.

The other group features Angola, Niger, Tanzania and Mali, with each having played a match each.
