ANOTHER ACCIDENT AT KINTAMPO

An ambulance driver conveying a referral patient from the Tamale Teaching Hospital to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in the Ashanti Region was involved in an accident on the Kintampo highway yesterday morning.
The diver, Musah Iddrisu, sustained multiple fractures and is on admission at the Techiman Holy Family Hospital responding the treatment.
The vehicle with registration number GV375-12 collied with a stationary DAF truck with registration number BA 429-14 parked on the edge of the road near Dweneho.
The Techiman MTTD Commander Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Okonengye confirmed the story to The Ghanaian Times and said five passengers on board the vehicle sustained multiple injuries but were being treated at the Techiman Holy Family Hospital. The Commander said another ambulance was called in immediately to transport the referral patient to the KATH.
ASP Okonengye explained that the ambulance driver on reaching the accident area slow down upon seeing the stationary DAF truck, but an oncoming Dawood bus with registration number GR 1236-15 hit the rear part of the ambulance van pushing it to the crash into the DAF truck. The Regional Security Council led by the Brong Ahafo Regional Minister, Kwaku Asoma Cheremeh who was visiting the victims of the Kintampo Waterfall incident used the opportunity to check on the ambulance victims at the Techiman Holy Family Hospital.
