2 APPREHENDED FOR SELLING TOFFEE AND ALCOHOL CONTAINING WEE.

A man and woman have been arrested by the Tafo Pankrono Police in the Ashanti Region for selling substances mixed with Indian Hemp locally known as “wee”

A 64 year old Madam Afia Pokua and her accomplice Issah Yaw who is also 66 year old were caught with substances  suspected to be Indian Hemp.

The Ashanti Regional Police Public Relation Officer, ASP Juliana Obeng speaking to Citi News said the suspects are currently assisting in investigation.

The Tafo Pankrono Divisional Police on Wednesday afternoon got informed that the suspects were selling condensed milk toffee and local gin popularly known as “laka” mixed with Indian Hemp to the Public, hence leading to their arrest.

According to ASP Obeng, after Madam Afia was arrested,the police conducted a search in her room where they found the items. She led the police to the arrest of Yaw who supplied her with the Indian Hemp.

“As we speak, both suspects are in police custody assisting with investigations. Meanwhile the substances will be sent to the forensic laboratory in Accra for forensic analysis,” ASP Obeng added.

She further advised the public to be cautious of condensed milk toffees they buy since they could be mixed with Indian Hemp.
