The Secretary at Nkoranza South Constituency in the Brong-Ahafo Region for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Afum Isaac Twum, has indicated that if the country was to hold elections, the NPP will lose both the presidential and parliamentary seats.
“if we are to vote today at Nkoranza South, I have already told the other executives we will surely lose votes both seats”, he told Kofi Asamoah Aning on PINK FM today.
Mr. Isaac Afum continued, “Madam Diana Atta-Kusiwaa, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) discriminates a lot. She prefers working with certain people to other people, and this doesn’t help in politics. The mere reason why we don’t want her in Nkoranza is, she always brings division”.
Lamenting on the MCE’s conduct, he said she always creates tension and even doesn’t talk to the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Mr. Charles Konadu Yiadom.
The Constituency Secretary hinted that, Nkoranza was the National Democratic Congress stronghold before it became the NPP to win both the presidential and parliamentary elections.
According to the Secretary, the incumbent party has a great stronghold in Nkoranza which led to its massive wins in the 2016 General elections.
Mr. Twum reiterated that the MCE has a “bad” attitude and doesn’t respect the other party executives. He further claims some party members have already lost faith in her.
Touching on some of her misconducts, the Secretary stressed that Madam Attaa-Kusiwaa doesn’t even come to the party’s office. He also alleged that the MCE doesn’t share the “bounty” with them whenever she goes for meeting.
He condemned claims that he has insulted her on a radio station. Again he expressed surprise about her saying he insulted her.
He questioned the authenticity of the MCE in managing the resources given to her by the President.
Speaking on the issue about the party division, he averred that a person selected to lead should be able to live in harmony with the people. However, he blamed the woman for causing strife among them. Thus, some members suggest that there should a man for the MCE position.
He posits that he doesn’t have anybody in mind. But he knows there is a competent person somewhere who could run the affairs of the party effectively. Since his interest will be in the running of the party.
