2016 Elections: Akufo-Addo wins – NPP

The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has declared its flag bearer, Nana Akufo-Addo, the winner of the December 7 race to the Flag Staff House.

According to the party, out of the 27,577 representing 94.23% of the pinksheets declared at each polling stations and submitted to its coalition centre indicates that Akufo-Addo had a “commanding lead of 53.79% to John Mahama’s 44.42%.”

“This translates into 5441642 votes for the NPP’s presidential candidate and 4497477 for the NDC candidate, a clear difference of 944164,” the National Youth Organiser of the NPP, Sammy Awuku told journalists on Thursday.

“…This is what we call a clear non-riggable margin,” he added.

He continued that no numerical “gymnastics” that would be employed by a “South African IT expert or Israeli IT expert can undo the sovereign mandate that the Ghanaian people want to entrust in the care of the NPP.”

He said with only “1670 pink sheets yet to be recorded from our centre mostly from marginal polling stations, that is even if all the votes there are awarded to the incumbent NDC candidate, the provisional results will not be overturned.”
