NYANTAKYI HITS BACK AT ANAS AS HE THREATENS TO SUE HIM

Kwesi Nyantakyi the former President of the Ghana Football Association has called into question the investigative work of Anas Aremeyaw Anas, suggesting he is not a true investigative journalist as has been touted.
Anas had embarked on a project as part of his investigative work for some period which he dubbed ‘naming, shaming and jailing’, corrupt and evil people in the society.
Tiger Eye Pi Boss Anas and his team released a new investigative documentary premiered on June 6 in which he accused Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi of corruption and breaching some football regulations.
The investigative work of Anas and his team exposed how some officials of GFA, referees, football administrators and some members in the sports ministry received bribes in various amounts to influence their decisions and activities with regards to work.
The erstwhile GFA boss and Eddie Doku the Greater Accra FA president are some of the key officials caught in corruption deeds in the Anas expose #12 which subsequently led to Mr. Nyantakyi’s 90 days ban by Fifa compelling him to resign.
In his officially signed statement issued Monday morning, Mr. Nyantakyi hit holes into the Number12 investigative documentary by Anas as he described it as “shoddy work”.
He claimed the investigative piece was fraught with “cut and paste vague presentations”.
In an attempt for the embattled Nyantakyi to clear himself of any misconduct, he claims Anas and his Tiger Eye PI team perverted and twisted the facts in the video.
“Resorted to twisting the facts through voice over commentaries and subtitling instead of allowing the videos to speak for themselves”
According to Mr. Nyantakyi, Anas’ approach of investigation does not constitute a true investigative journalist. He added that, Ghanaians are capable of understanding things themselves therefore Anas should let them have a full view of the genuine video.
“An investigative journalist does real time investigations and not through contrived scheme of entrapment,” he said and quoted Manasseh Azure as an example of investigative journalist.
“I am determined to deal with this matter in accordance with the law” Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi vows to deal with the matter legitimately.
