Mr. Joseph Aryeetey, a labor expert has lauded government over the decision to place a ban on the dispatch of Ghanaian workers to foreign countries especially those in the gulf area.
Government announced its intention to as a matter of urgency, “Place a ban on all employment agencies in the country from recruiting Ghananaians to work in foreign countries, particularly, in the Gulf region”
Giving his reaction on the development, the labor expert stated, that the welfare of every Ghanaian working abroad should be paramount. So this ban is to check appropriate measures of travelling and working abroad legally and without any inconveniences whiles they are working there.
He explained that, Ghanaians planning to work in foreign countries should make it a point to use legal measures to attain permissive authority to travel as this will be to their own advantage for an assured travel and return.
When asked on what the Ghanaians who are already working in such countries but under poor conditions can do Mr. Aryeetey suggested that they should contacts the Ghanaian embassies in those countries to work towards their travelling back home.
