GJA DEMANDS APOLOGY FROM JUDGE FOR DISMISSING JOURNALISTS.

The Ghana journalist Association has chided Magistrate of a district court, Arit Nsemoh for dismissing journalist in their quest to cover the court proceedings kin to the murder of late Member of Parliament for Abukwah North, Joseph Boakye Danquah.
After the entrance of the two suspects, the magistrate without any reasons ordered the police to drive away all journalists from the courtroom.
GJA president Affail Monney who considers this action indiscreet in a press release on Monday June 19 appealed the judiciary service to apologize and vow and that, the reporters would not go through such hindrance when covering a case.
He further lamented that, “the murder of JB Danquah is a huge national and international interest due to the manner the MP was killed, hence denying journalist access to the court is depriving the public and family of late JB Danquah in particular the right to be informed about the proceedings to assign justice in the case” and accept them to follow the case and inform the public with the right information.
