A recent documentary named *Chris Brown: A History of Violence* features several women who share their purported experiences with the R&B artist. Among them is a Jane Doe who alleges that he assaulted her in 2020, a claim that his attorneys have denied within the film.
“Although I identified myself as Jane Doe, some individuals were still able to discover my identity,” an anonymous woman shares. She mentions that she received death threats following the incident. “By speaking out now, I hope to bring attention to the truth of what transpired.”
In the document, Doe mentions that she had recently relocated to Los Angeles to chase a dance career when she traveled to Miami with a friend in December 2020. During her trip, she asserts that she received a call on December 30 from an acquaintance who invited her to Sean “Diddy” Combs’ yacht.
Upon her arrival, Doe noticed that Brown, 35, was present and interpreted it as a “sign” that he might be able to “help me, guide me, or offer some advice,” she asserts.
We had a conversation, and he gave me a drink. To be honest, my memory begins to get a bit hazy from this point,” she said. “I can’t recall if I actually saw him pour it, but I drank it anyway, and then he handed me another one. As I stood there, I started to feel fatigued and my body felt a bit heavy.”
In a statement , Doe expressed, “None of the texts undermine the reality of the sexual assault. I urge people to acknowledge this and to refrain from shaming victims or accusing them of lying simply because they admire an artist they have never met.”
In the documentary, Brown’s lawyers assert that Doe’s allegations were entirely made up
An attorney representing Combs, who is currently in jail facing charges of racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation for the purpose of prostitution, chose not to comment.
Doe asserts that Brown subsequently took her to a bedroom. “I remember lying back and thinking, ‘Why can’t I get up?’ The next thing I knew, he was on top of me, and I couldn’t move. I said ‘No,’ and then I felt him… before I realized it, he was inside me,” she recounted tearfully, alleging that he ejaculated within her. “I felt so disgusted.”
She then alleges that he took her phone and sent himself a message that read: “Most girls would probably be pleased… but that’s not what I wanted. This isn’t what I wanted,” she states.
Following the alleged incident, Doe maintained communication with the “Run It” singer to seek further understanding, according to her. She asserts that it wasn’t until she entered therapy that she was able to label the incident as sexual assault.
“I am certain of it. Rather than convincing myself otherwise, I acknowledge the truth: it was rape,” she asserts.
Doe states in the documents that a legal team contacted her to assist in building a case; however, a judge ultimately dismissed the case “without prejudice” in 2022, citing “lack of prosecution,” as indicated by court documents . According to previous reports from Rolling Stone, her attorneys dropped her as a client after police discovered text messages exchanged between her and Brown following the incident.
One of Doe’s attorneys, Ariel Mitchell, is representing her once more. In a statement, Mitchell expressed, “I have great admiration for my client, and I firmly believe that what she experienced is completely true. I feel I let her down as her attorney because I wasn’t able to foster a level of comfort in our limited time together that would allow her to be completely open with me.”
In another part of the documentary, a woman named Liziane Gutierrez shares her account of an incident involving Brown in 2016 (watch the exclusive clip below). Gutierrez alleges that after attending one of his shows in Las Vegas, she was invited to his hotel room, where he reportedly punched her in the face.
In the documentary, she recounts, ‘When I saw Chris Brown, he was behaving oddly—really oddly. So, I chose to take out my phone to snap a picture of him. As soon as I did, he noticed and punched me in the face. His security took my phone, and I was escorted out of the party. I’m not claiming that pulling out my phone was the right thing to do; I acknowledge that. However, that doesn’t justify him hitting me.'”
Gutierrez filed a lawsuit against Brown in February 2016. By September 2017, TMZ reported that the two had reached a private settlement.
“Chris Brown: A History of Violence details the numerous allegations of abuse directed at the ‘Forever’ singer, who has a long record of legal issues. He has faced assault accusations from several individuals, with the most notable being his ex-girlfriend, Rihanna.”
Following the incident involving Rihanna on February 9, 2009, he faced charges for felony assault and making criminal threats in March of that same year. Three months later, he pleaded guilty to a felony. Subsequently, he accepted a plea agreement that included community service, five years of probation, and domestic violence counseling.
In January 2013, Rihanna announced that they had rekindled their relationship, but the former couple ultimately parted ways for good just three months later.
In 2013, Brown entered rehab to tackle his struggles with substance abuse and anger management. Four years later, in 2017, his ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran was awarded a five-year restraining order against him after presenting threatening text messages in court and accusing him of physical abuse.
