Luis Enrique celebrated Barcelona’s La Liga and Copa del Rey double with the club’s fans, as the Blaugrana secured the league title on the final weekend of the season and then defeated Sevilla 2-0 on Sunday night at the Estadio Vicente Calderon to win their 28th Copa del Rey.
Back home at the Camp Nou, the Asturian coach said that the supporters played a key role in the team’s success.
“First, excuse the players who are unable to be here, they would have loved to have shared these titles with you all,” Luis Enrique said.
“It has been a long, difficult, demanding and tough season, but with a group of players, assistants and aides at this level, I think we have done brilliantly.
“We’ve pulled through thanks to you, the supporters, and I remember overcoming an especially tough moment together against Valencia.”
