Water shortage hits Amanfrom

Water shortage hits Amanfrom after major pipelines burst. Residents of Amanfrom Kasoa have complained about the lack of water in the vicinity for the past two months.

About 20,000 residents live in Amanfrom but after  water shortage hits residents have moved. Due to the issue of water availability some residents have threathened to relocate.

Residents of the vicinity expressed worries and concerns about the issue of water availabilty in the vicinity.

Maame Ama a resident said “The issue of lack of water in the vicinity has been persistent for years. Mostly there would shortage of water for a few days and then we would get water. But this particular time, the shortage has been for 2 months. This is a big challenge to those of us who live in the area”.

“I sell water to residents who do not have taps in their homes, that is the only business I do.  Since there’s not been water for the past two months, business has gone low and living has become very hard. Buying water from the water tankers cost ghc300 per a tank. Madam Ato said “the water is bought at a very low hence making it very difficult to run my business” .

However, the issue has come to the notice of the Ghana Water Company. Some residents phoned their office in the first few weeks of the incident.

Director of the Ghana Water Company, Hon. Patrick Yaw Boamah, says they are working on solving the issue.

“The Ghana Water Company has heard of this issue and has put measures in place to address the problem”. He apologized for the delay in combating the issue and urges the residents to hold on.

As the Water Company has given their word to the residents of Kasoa Amanfrom, we only hope for the best results.
