The Central Regional Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress, Benard Allotey Jacobs has broken silence over his alleged arrest at the Heathrow Airport in the United Kingdom’s capital London.
In an interview, the astute politician affectionately called Uncle Ben, known for his comic and professional style in political communication denied that he was been busted at the airport yesterday when all passengers were still on-board the plane for money laundering and carrying of narcotics.
The news of his alleged arrest broke on Sunday when a party activist of the NPP Hopeson Yaovi Adorye posted on his Facebook page about the arrest at 9:05.

ALLOTEY JACOBS BUSTED BY UK NATIONAL CRIME AGENCY ON SUSPECTED MONEY LAUNDERING, COCAINE CHARGES
Allotey Jacobs, the Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and right-hand man of President John Mahama was busted early this morning in a dramatic arrest on a British Airways Flight at Heathrow Airport by armed officers of the National Crime Agency, the UK’s equivalent of the US’s FBI.
He joins the long list of Government officials busted for drug-related money laundering activities which includes the First Lady, Lordina Mahama by UK officials.
The severity of the offences was indicated in the manner of his arrest, which bore similarities with how the notorious Nayeli Ametepe (Rubygate) was arrested: NCA officials boarded the BA Flight No. 078 from Accra which arrived in Heathrow this morning and arrested him right there on the plane for carrying cash in excess of £500,000.
Allotey Jacobs was escorted off the plane, his wife in tow, under heavy security and is still being held by the NCA.

The post went viral on social media and later attracting the attention of the Ghanaian media.
Most people who heard the news still doubted even after press releases were issued by the central regional communication officer of the NDC, Kwesi Dawood and Nurudeen Kobbina Essah, Personal Assistant of the astute politician describing the story as untrue.
However, Hopeson Yaovi Adorye who masterminded the story still defended his claim this morning during an interview with Kwame Obeng Sarkodie on Pink FM’s breakfast show Omanbapa Kasa and even claimed he has enough evidence to substantiate that claim.
The Central Regional Chairman of the NDC, Allotey Jacobs in an interview thjis morning however refuted this claim and has promised to take on the leader of the political group affiliated to the NPP, Crusaders For Change Movement, Hopeson Adorye for causing a dent on his image and character.
“I didn’t even have such amount of money on me…I only made a transit at Heathrow, I’m in America now” He said.
In a separate interview on Pink FM’s Midday News, the Personal Assistant for Allotey Jacobs in the person of Nurudeen Kobbinah Essah, have declared their intent to take an action against Hopeson Adorye for bringing the renowned politician’s image to disrepute.
“We thought Hopeson had a fever, but defending his claim this morning too, we have realized the malicious intention behind this spread of falsehood and so we are ready to take him on, he’s bitten more than he can chew” he said.
He has however disclosed that Ben Allotey Jacobs the over 39 years experienced politician would return to the country on Sunday.
