UEFA Champions League PSG vs Man City

It’s new ground for Manchester City, as they prepare to take on Paris-Saint Germain in the first leg of their maiden UEFA Champions League quarter-final.

Manuel Pellegrini’s men are the sole Barclays Premier League team left in Europe’s blue ribbon club competition, having seen off Dynamo Kiev in the previous round.

But City will need to up their game for the first leg as they take on a PSG side who have already retained the French league title this year and dumped out Chelsea in the last-16. Follow all the action from the Parc des Princes with Sportsmail’s Dan Ripley.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has 38 goals this season, seven in his last three games and video footage showing him scoring a sensational scissor-kick during training took over Twitter this week.

So how do you stop the seemingly unstoppable?

The Paris-Saint Germain striker scored against Chelsea – home and away – during their Champions League last-16 tie and passed those English tests. Not that Zlatan does auditions, anyway.

And here comes another, as Manchester City meet the man who is set to sign for a Barclays Premier League club during the summer.

As is the Champions League fashion, Manchester City will be in their away kit

…when I say fashion I am taking a dig at last night’s scenes which saw UEFA requesting Barcelona and Atletico Madrid play in their change kits. Thankfully it seems PSG will be playing in their home strip.

The shirt of Zlatan Ibrahimovic hangs in the Paris Saint-Germani changing room.

And the Parc des Princes is ready for this Champions League quarter-final

Shame about the overcast skies. Poor from French weather…

We already know that the French champs are better than the English champs

But given Chelsea’s track record this season, that’s hardly a fair comparison. So can Manchester City help repair the Premier League’s reputation in Europe?

As the last English team standing, if they can’t nobody else will. So welcome to Sportsmail’s live coverage of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final as Manuel Pellegrini’s team travel to Paris-Saint Germain
