Residents of Awutu Bereku wake up to hear the sad news of the death of a school boy who was knocked down by Tipper Truck on the Kasoa Winneba Highway.
The deceased, name withheld, attempted to cross the road at Akrampa Junction but met his unfortunate fate when Tipper Truck with registration number GR 8763-21 run over him. Eyewitnesses claim that the truck was on top speed from Kasoa heading towards Awutu Beraku. The brother of the deceased who attempted to cross the road with him however survived but sustained injuries.
Residents further revealed that the accident scene is a hotspot for vehicular accidents on the Kasoa Winneba Highway. They disclosed that accidents frequently occurs on that stretch primarily because there are no speed ramps to curtail over-speeding. Attempts to get the authorities to fix a speed ramp on that stretch of the Highway has proved futile. They however entreat all the relevant bodies to come to their aid as failure to place a speed ramp on that stretch of the highway, more lives would be lost .
