The 1992 constitution was formed under the administration of the PNDC led by Flight Lieutenant Jerry John Rawlings.
In the constitution as stated in Article 25 1b”Secondary education in its different forms including technical and vocational education shall be made generally available and accessible to all by every appropriate means, and in particular by the progressive introduction of free education”.
With this, the NDC claims to be the brian behind Free SHS.
Hence when the NDC is voted into power, they will complete the E-blocks they started in order to make the free SHS program run smoothly.
Private institutions to join the Free SHS program so that all students will be in school at the same time without having to stay at home for months before school resumes.
“The NPP does not have enough knowledge on how to run the Free SHS program because they did not conceive the idea of Free SHS”- Hon. Sam George.
With current reports of low quality foods being provided to students in senior high schools, when voted into power the NDC will make sure that the school feeding program is fixed providing quality food for students, according to Hon. Sam George.
After students are done with SHS, the NDC when voted into power will makes sure students who will gain admission into various tertiary institutions will attend their first years for free and in the subsequent years will be supported by the Student Loan Trust Fund.
