The local leaders of the SDA church should stop put fear in the member

The SDA Adventist church members  have touts minds on whether to vote come Dec 7 because it falls on the Saabath. The Young Executives of SDA Church has today released a press statement on the current confusion on Adventist.

Your consideration of our press release is greatly appreciated. We will soon go to the polls to vote for the new president of our beloved country, Ghana. However, the leaders of the Seventh Day Adventists have not given us any information regarding election education or the significance of each church member exercising their civil rights.
We make that claim because, if you read an excerpt from the book Review and Herald (19 August 1884), written by one of our founders, Ellen G. White
It states, and I quote, “I commanded all ministers (Pastor) to use their influence within our church and with the general public to persuade them to make every continuous effort through personal labor and at the polls in support of their chosen and deserving candidate.”Remove quote.
She continued by encouraging the young people at Battle Creek College that they will eventually have the opportunity to participate in a thoughtful legislative council and aid in the enactment of laws for all countries.
According to Madame White, who was quoted in the November 15, 1883, Review and Herald, voting is not always a bad thing and can even be a significant part of our responsibilities as Christians. If you do decide to cast a ballot, however, you should keep your thoughts to yourself because it is a private matter that only you, God, and you alone should know. The last point is that voting carries a great deal of responsibility; our choices and the reasons behind them are spiritual.
The young executive wants to take a stand against the church leadership’s instilling fears in us, saying that voting on the Sabbath is a serious sin.
And we humbly ask the local elders to avoid instilling fear in churchgoers. Furthermore, as churchgoers, you have no right whatsoever to condemn anyone for exercising their right to vote on December 7, 2024.
Because it is entirely my responsibility to consider my voting decisions. Neither the General Conference nor any other administrative level owns it. It does not belong to my local church pastor or the people sitting next to me; it is not an issue that belongs in the pulpit or the Sabbath school class.
