Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry broke Reggie Miller’s record for three-pointers in consecutive playoff games on Monday night in Game 1 of the Western Conference finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Monday marked Curry’s 45th straight postseason game with a three-pointer, a streak that began during the 2013 playoffs. With Miller providing color analysis for TNT’s broadcast of the game, Curry’s triple with 42 seconds remaining in the second quarter gave him the record.
Miller’s streak of 44 consecutive playoff contests with a three-point field goal began in 1995 and concluded in 2000. He was a five-time All-Star during his 18-year NBA career.
