Those of you who paid attention to the credits for Views might have noticed that the album was released through BBK, among other labels. The fact reminded us that back in February Drake caught us by surprise with an Instagram post where he claimed that he had singed to Grime artist Skepta’s Boy Better Know label.
In a new interview with TimeOut London, Skepta has confirmed that Drake signing to BBK is indeed real, although all the details have yet to be sorted. “We’re putting together an official worldwide BBK label. But we haven’t talked about how it’ll work yet. It’ll be separate to his existing contracts. Trust me, I am not gonna sue Lil Wayne.”
As well, Skepta spoke on meeting Drizzy for the first time at a party hosted by the Canadian at a Miami mansion where he was staying. He was asleep when he got the invite and was woken by a friend telling him. “I was like, ‘Why the fuck would you open my door and tell me to wake up?’’ he said. “She just goes: ‘Would I wake you for a joke? I know you’re cranky!’”
