SEFWI CHIRANO COMMUNITY HAILS CHIRANO GOLD MINES FOR BUILDING HEALTH FACILITIES

SEFWI CHIRANO COMMUNITY HAILS CHIRANO GOLD MINES FOR DONATING FULLY EQUIPPED MATERNITY UNIT AND MEDICAL LABORATORY TO THE COMMUNITY.

Elated Chirano Community  hails Chirano Gold Mines (Kinross Ltd)  for building an ultramodern Maternity Unit and Medical Laboratory equipped. The facility is supplied with all the vital materials which was licensed on 4th June, 2021. It was commissioned in the Bibiani Ahwiaso Bekwai municipality, Western North Region.

Kwabena Owusu Ampratwum  showed that this building would help curb maternal mortality in the area and promote antenatal and postnatal care. He is the Public Relations Officer of Chirano Gold Mines.

Emphasizing, he said, “it is part of our social responsibility to develop our catchment areas. However, if the community is strong, the company Kinross Ltd would also be stronger since most of our employees reside in the Chirano community”.

On behalf of the Western North Regional Health Director and the Chirano Health Director and the Chirano Health Centre, Dr. Isaac Oppong expressed gratitude to the company for such a benevolence. Apart from that, he asked for more saying there are other things the health center is lacking especially nurses bungalow.

Again, he said it’s their dream to convert the health center to polyclinic in the next three years to reduce premature birth.

On his part, Okogyeman Kwaku Gyamprah III, chief of Sefwi Chirano traditional area charged the nurses and the community to take maintenance culture into consideration.

Nevertheless, his concern was for the facility to remain stronger to serve its intended purpose . Thus, they shouldn’t hesitate to report any damage on the building to Nananom for early renovation.

At the end, the MCE for the municipality, Hon Alfred Amoah  hammered on taking good care of the facility. Additionally, he informed the appropriate body of any damage before it escalates.
