Player of the Year – Riyad Mahrez
Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez followed in the footsteps of Chelsea’s Eden Hazard to be named player of the year. Will he follow the Belgian in being a Premier League champion too? (Though the slump that followed would be best avoided.)
Mahrez dedicated the award to his late father . Jamie Vardy was runner up with Harry Kane third.
Young Player of the Year – Dele Alli
Dele Alli has had a breakthrough season for Tottenham and England. He has scored some memorable goals and forced himself into Roy Hodgson’s plans for Euro 2016.
Tottenham will be very happy if he can build on his award like last year’s winner did – a certain Harry Kane. He accepted the award with a video message – complete with trademark wave.
Women’s Player of the Year – Izzy Christiansen
Manchester City and England midfielder Izzy Christiansen’s six goals in the final seven games of the Women’s Super League season propelled her side to a runner’s up spot and Champions League qualification.
