Is it a collaborative responsibility or an individual responsibility?
Restoring Ghana’s democracy is a collective responsibility, given the fact that we are all responsible for the welfare of the country.
Every individual, organization, sector, department and office has a role to play in the democratic restoration of the country.
The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) should reintroduce civic education in school curricular, teaching students about democratic value.
Ensuring effective checks on the executive power, there should be independence of the other government branches. This will also boost the hope of democracy.
The media also has to play their part by being truthful, sincere and honest with regards to the reports and information they deliver to audience and not be biased.
Parliamentarians can help restore the democracy of the country by being patriotic and staying committed to their duties.
Parliament can also build trust and improve democracy by engaging the people or the public, through consultations and hearings.
Religious leaders also have to play their part, in that they should be neutral when it comes to political matters. Focusing on building unity and promoting good morals and ethics.
Everyone has a role to play in restoring the hope of Ghana’s democracy, it is never an individual responsibility.
