Last two days marks four years since the passing of President Jerry John Rawlings, celebrated by the Rawlings Foundation and family as a leader who embodied dedication to the people. Known as “The People’s Man,” Rawlings served with a commitment to justice, freedom, and accountability.
Rising to prominence in 1979, he became a catalyst for change during a time of socio-economic crisis. As Chairman of the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC) and later the first president of the Fourth Republic, he set the path for Ghana’s growth and established the National Democratic Congress (NDC), which remains central in Ghanaian politics.
Remembered as a cherished husband, father, and friend to millions, Rawlings’ legacy of courage and dedication to Africa endures.
