Club captain Sergio Ramos and the rest of the Real Madrid players passed around a microphone at Madrid’s city hall on Sunday evening during a parade to celebrate the team’s 11th European title.
Los Blancos defeated Atletico Madrid on penalties on Saturday night, setting off celebrations across the Spanish capital.
“This is the result of the hard work of my teammates and our coach,” Ramos said.
“It has been a difficult season, but when you have a goal to aim for…
“We want to thank all people in Madrid, Atletico have been a worthy rival, and representing Madrid is a source of pride.”
Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored the winning penalty at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, echoed the words of his captain.
“It’s a unique moment,” the striker said.
“We are very happy, and we have come here to thank all of the fans.”
