President Nana Akufo-Addo has called on religious leaders to encourage restraint among members who prophesy election outcomes.
Advising the clergy to maintain peace and respect throughout the December 7 elections. Speaking on his behalf, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs Minister Stephen Asamoah Boateng delivered the remarks during the “Agent of Peace” Campaign organized by the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC) on November 3, 2024.
Akufo-Addo emphasized the importance of decorum, unity, and respectful political discourse, urging both political parties and religious leaders to avoid premature victory claims or divisive rhetoric that could heighten tensions.
He reminded Ghanaians of the country’s democratic values and the role of peaceful elections in preserving stability, underscoring that genuine elections are the foundation of democratic legitimacy.
