The board member of the Greater Accra Poultry Farmers Association Mr. Kwame Ntim Duodu said that, Christmas is barely two months away and people are eager to celebrate the Christmas eve with friends and family by buying poultry birds.
He continued by saying that, the current demand for feed is four times higher than what they are supplying. Around this time we in this association have excess demand for our feed products, more than what we can produce. The rise in bird fluid has even distort the sales of poultry birds and the company is at a verge of collapsing.
Mr. Ntim Duodu, appeals to Government, to support them and also reduce the import charges on poultry drugs, food etc. This will help them create job avenues.
