UEFA president Michel Platini will leave his post after failing to get his six-year ban from football overturned.
CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport) did however note on Monday that the Frenchman’s ban would be reduced from six to four years.
Platini has since announced via his lawyers that he will therefore step down as president.
The verdict comes after he was found guilty of a conflict of interest in 2011, accused of taking a 1.8 million euro payment from FIFA president Sepp Blatter.
